Women in Politics | 📢 Fill out the survey and share your experience as a local elected woman

Hello 👋

Would you mind answering a few questions about your experience as a local elected woman?

The information will help with a study on women in politics, specifically aspects related to thematic responsibilities and the effects of violence against women politicians.

With this anonymous survey addressed to elected women at local, intermediate and regional levels in Europe, the Council of European Municipalities and Regions (CEMR) seeks to explore and generate new evidence on:

  • the types of portfolios that elected women hold and to gain insights on gender segregation of topics and responsibilities.
  • the issue of abuse and violence that local elected women face, the various forms it takes and the effect it has on women politicians

To achieve this, a survey addressed to elected women serving their community. This is opportunity to hear directly from their own experience. The survey will be open through 1 September 2023.

2023 Gender Social Norms Index (GSNI) | Human Development Reports
Without tackling biased gender social norms, we will not achieve gender equality or the Sustainable Development Goals. Biased gender social norms—the undervaluation of women’s capabilities and rights in society—constrain women’s choices and opportunities by regulating behaviour and setting the boundaries of what women are expected to do and be. Biased gender social norms are a major impediment to achieving gender equality and empowering all women and girls.
