👋 Hello!
We are proud to host the fourth edition of our “#ProgressivesSpeakUp: School of young local politicians”, a training for young local and regional elected leaders. It will take place on 2-3 March 2023 in Valencia, Spain.
📅 More detailed information on how to apply for the event will follow right after the Christmas break, so keep an eye on your mailbox and social media.
👭 This year’s School will focus on an important priority of European progressives: our fight to prevent and combat violence against women.
We would like to invite you to share your best practices in preventing and combating violence against women in all its forms. You are our best ambassadors, being at the forefront of the implementation of policies on the ground in favour of gender equality and we want to relay your #ProgressiveLocalStories to inspire others.
🔍 Your best practices may relate to:
- Gender mobility: Public policies rethinking public transportation adapted to women's needs and schedules and responding to their safety and security needs;
- Domestic violence: Services to address gender-based violence such as funding shelters and other safe accommodation options for survivors;
- Street harassment and safety in public spaces;
- The missing welfare on women' shoulders (childcare, elderly, housekeeping);
- Education & awareness campaigns: Workshops and other activities to raise awareness on the issue;
- Gender pay gap;
- Gender budgeting (how every budget decision you take impacts on gender differently and how to change).
📜 To take part, please fill in the questionnaire here. We look forward to receiving your best practices by Tuesday, 10 January 2023.
