👋 Just a week to go!
Our #ProgressivesSpeakUp School of young local and regional politicians is around the corner! The updated agenda of the School is available here. It aims at discussing a comprehensive European Plan for affordable housing, which should be the top priority of the future European Commission, and the adoption of a declaration on “Affordable Housing Needs Europe – Europe Needs Affordable Housing”.

Thursday 4 April
The first day of the School starts on Thursday, 4 April at 12:30 and will end at 20:30 after the citizen's debate on "Youth and Europe". The citizen's debate will be followed by a cocktail reception whereas lunch will be provided from 12:30 until the start of the School at 14:30.
Friday 5 April
The second day of the School starts with our External PES Group meeting from 9:00 to 12:30. We invite you to dive into crucial discussions on tackling the housing crisis within the European Union and to adopt our PES Group declaration on “Affordable Housing Needs Europe – Europe Needs Affordable Housing”.
We're thrilled to announce an incredible line-up of speakers, including Nicolas Schmit, European Commissioner for Jobs and Social Rights and Klara Geywitz who currently serves as the Deputy Party Leader of the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) and Federal Minister of Housing. Joining them will be, Pedro Nuno Santos, Leader of the Portuguese Socialist Party (PS), and many more!
Meeting venues and addresses
The Progressives Speak Up School will take place in Portimão at the following venue:
Museu de Portimão, Rua D. Carlos I Zona Ribeirinha, 8500-607 Portimão, Portugal
→ Pick up your badge at the welcome desk of the venue from 12:30 on Thursday, 4 April.
→ The citizen's debate and the External PES Group meeting will take place at this venue too.
🛩️ How are the shuttle busses from and to Faro airport organised?
Regular shuttle buses will be organised from Faro airport to Portimão and back. A dedicated desk will be placed at the first exit point for all passengers at the airport. Look for our local hosts who will be holding a "PES Group" sign.
The meeting point for the shuttle return from Portimão to Faro airport will be at the intersection of "Rua Gonçalo Nascimento / Rua 28 de Maio, right next to the Portimão Museum (2 minute walk - see map below).
Find below the timetable for the shuttles only for those who have registered online.
