📢 Join our participatory lab | 10 October 2023, Brussels

"Breathe, eat, live. The future of cities and regions with the EU Green Deal". Join our event during the EU Week of Regions and Cities at the European Committee of the Regions.

👋 Hello!

We have news for you: we are organising an event in Brussels on 10 October and you can be part of it! The topic? The EU Green Deal.

Within the European Week of Regions and Cities, we are organising a highly interactive event to give you the chance to meet the PES team and our PES Group members, learn more about the EU Green Deal and bring your experience and insights to a table with policy-makers.

As some of you might be in Brussels with the YEPs Programme by the European Committee of the Regions, be aware that we are organising, on 9-10 October, different events and activities that you are welcome to join.

The programme

Tuesday 10 October, 9:30 - 11:00 a.m. CEST 🌳 Participatory lab "Breathe, eat, live. The future of cities and regions with the EU Green Deal"

We at the PES Group are organising an interactive event to put on the same table you, progressive politicians from Brussels, PES Group members and experts working on the protection of the environment.

The main goal of this participatory lab is for you to brainstorm with peers and experts on the challenges cities and regions are facing in implementing the EU Green Deal and to better understand the impact of this legislative package in our daily lives. Together, we will develop solutions to make it more affordable, inclusive and effective. In other words, more progressive!

We set up three tables and you will choose (at a later stage) the one you prefer to join:

  • Breathe – improving air quality through green spaces, sustainable mobility and circular economy;
  • Eat – making food system fair, healthy and environmentally friendly;
  • Live – tackling the renovation wave while eradicating energy and mobility poverty.

Check out the programme to find out our speakers and who will be sitting at your discussion table! Remember that two out of three tables will be in English without interpretation, but we have designed one with interpretation in several EU languages to make this event accessible to all.

REGISTER FOR THE LAB

Today, we are opening a flash pre-registration phase only for you. From August, registration will be open to all, so this is your chance to reserve your place.

If you face any problem, please contact Anna Tosetto at anna.tosetto@cor.europa.eu.

Tuesday 10 October, 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. CEST 💬 PES Group meeting

The participatory lab will kick off our PES Group meeting, where all our members discuss our political priorities and get ready for the upcoming Plenary session.

You are all invited to attend this meeting, too! This is a great occasion to understand the internal process and the current debates at the European Committee of the Regions and to discover the priorities of the PES Group.

You will also have to opportunity to intervene.

Monday 9 October, afternoon & evening 🌹 PES & YES Green Deal activity + social surprises

The lab will be preceded by another interactive activity in Brussels on Monday 9 October late afternoon (after the official opening of the EU Regions Week), focusing on the EU Green Deal, organised by our partners, the Party of European Socialists (PES) and the Young European Socialists (YES). This will include social and networking opportunities. More info soon. Do not forget to register to both!

REGISTER FOR THE MONDAY ACTIVITY

We look forward to meeting you soon and joining forces to make Europe more progressive, starting from our cities and regions!

Our best wishes,
