🌹 Affordable housing for all! l Your PES Group Newsletter

There's no place like home. In theory, yes. In practice, tens of millions of Europeans spend almost half of their income on housing and many more cannot afford to keep their homes adequately warm. 🏠 Affordable Housing Needs Europe

How can we make sure everyone in Europe has access to affordable and sustainable housing? At our external Group meeting in Portimão, we adopted a declaration with 20 concrete requests on different aspects of housing policy. It was handed to Nicolas Schmit, common candidate of the Party of European Socialists for the 2024 European elections. Discover the declaration here.

Promoting social housing and mixed social neighborhoods, tackling energy poverty and providing access to housing for young people, planning cities in an inclusive way - many young elected local and regional leaders from all over Europe took part in the 2024 edition of our #ProgressivesSpeakUp School.

❤️ #ProgressiveLocalStories
